GLEAN COMES TO WINNIPEG!
Glean, Voice of Diversity is now open for business in Winnipeg!
Our mission is to inspire and create positive change in the community by providing a literary forum for reasoned social, political, and cultural discussions while promoting multiculturalism.
Glean Winnipeg is an offshoot of Glean Magazine which saw birth in Richmond, British Columbia in February 2008. A monthly magazine that focuses on multiculturalism and circulated in schools and libraries, it was a product of intense brainstorming between Patti Pascal and Pamela Gervacio. Pascal works for the Richmond School District and Gervacio runs a printing company in Richmond, a city in Greater Vancouver.
Glean believes that all forms of art represent man’s higher aspirations. We believe that education and politics create change that frees man from the shackles of poverty and ignorance. We believe that Glean can make a positive impact on the community by marrying those three.
Glean profiles community leaders, artists, and entrepreneurs in every issue. Their education and skills gave them the tools they need to find meaningful paths and blaze lasting trails in the Great Canadian Mosaic. The Ottawa-based Library and Archives Canada has a permanent collection of Glean magazines for purposes of research and consultation.
Starting with this, our maiden issue, we hope that Glean Winnipeg will inspire and move readers into nurturing and strengthening our shared values as Canadians.
